College Education for undocumented students ?

A05234 bill is a bill that would benefit undocumented students that wasn't to go to college. As some of you may already know undocumented students are not allowed to get any kind of financial aid in any form : scholarship, loans , or grants.

My sister is currently in a program called PRILIGHT . Where they have given her the opportunity to go to Albany and debate bills that are currently trying to be passed. I have found many of them very interesting.
I am for this bill and hope that it will get passed. Especially because the Dream Act was not. I believe that everyone should be given an equal chance. Many undocumented students that want to go to college have lived here all their lives, and are just like us. Also, most of them are fluent English speakers. There are not many kids that are motivated enough to go to college.  So why should we prevent those who do have a great chance of succeeding . Now that I am getting closer to college  I have seen many of my friends have to go to work or who are looking for a job so that they can pay their pay through college or start their life.
Also,  I have seen families where only one (usually the oldest ) child is undocumented and the rest of their sibling are U.S citizens. Some may disagree with me and say that they don't deserve it for many reason.  I don't think they understand that it is extremely hard to get a job without a college application and even harder to pay your way though college but not impossible because I have seem people do it.

English Only Bill

A05350 - The English Only bill is a current bill trying to be passed by Congress. If the law gets passed Kobl (MS) as well as the people who support him, believes that this will unite the country. One might say that this law is discriminatory and against non English speaking people. But I believe it really is not.

The law would make English the official language of New York State. This will effect everyone in one way or another.  One way it will effect you is that when you want to vote everything will be printed in English. I think that even thought it seem harsh and bi-est it will encourage non-English speakers to speak English. It will benefit the country as a whole because people are encouraged to learn English which will increase the literacy rate. Yes it will be harder for the first generation of non- English speaking immigrants but it will encourage them to learn English. This will help them get better jobs. Many non -English speaking immigrants that I personally know are not motivated to learn English therefore they are not going to have a great job and have a hard live.

Another, part of the bill states that no longer will politics be able to talk to the people in an language other than English during campaigns. I'm not sure how I feel about this. At first I thought it was wrong because many people feel more comfortable being spoken to in their. But some politics use another language to their advantage, to try to persuade other's to vote for them.
